This Extended Warranty Policy, based on the one-year manufacturer’s warranty, applies to eligible scooters and
powerchairs purchased from Citywide Scooters. By purchasing and operating the equipment, the customer agrees to
the terms and conditions outlined below.
1. Citywide Extended Warranty Coverage limits:
–Mobility Scooters: up to 4,000 km of operation
–Powerchairs: up to 1,000 hours of operation
2.Covered components include major functional parts such as:
–Motors
–Drive axles
–Electric brakes
–Suspension systems are covered for manufacturing defects only.
–Electronic control components including controllers and joysticks.
This extended warranty is provided at no upfront cost to the customer.
Warranty coverage remains valid only if all service requirements are met as described in Section 3.
3.Mandatory Annual Service Requirement
To maintain eligibility for the Citywide Extended Warranty, customers must complete annual maintenance
service at Citywide Scooters.
Annual Service Details:
–Service Fee: $250 per year
–Citywide Scooters will contact customers annually to arrange pickup, service, and return of the
equipment.
–Failure to complete the required annual service may result in suspension or termination of warranty
coverage.
4.Annual Service Inspection and Maintenance
The annual service includes, but is not limited to, the following procedures:
–Battery condition testing
–Tire removal and hub lubrication
–Front suspension lubrication
–Motor brush inspection and replacement if required
–Motor cleaning to remove carbon buildup
–Tire inspection and pressure adjustment
–Complete operational and safety inspection
The annual service fee does not include the cost of replacement parts, including but not limited to
motor brushes or other maintenance components.
5.Exclusions from Warranty Coverage
The following items and conditions are not covered under the Citywide Limited Lifetime Warranty:
–Tires and normal wear-and-tear components
–Accessories unless confirmed to be defective upon inspection
–Batteries beyond the one-year manufacturer defect warranty
–Damage resulting from accidents, collisions, or misuse
–Damage caused by improper storage or environmental exposure
–Unauthorized repairs, modifications, or alterations to the equipment
6.Water Exposure and Environmental Damage
Mobility scooters and powerchairs are water-resistant but not waterproof.
The warranty does not cover damage resulting from:
–Exposure to heavy rain or water ingress
–Driving through puddles or standing water
–Water entering motors, control systems, LCD displays, or electrical components
Customers are strongly advised to store their equipment indoors in a warm, dry environment. Installing a
canopy and windshield is recommended to reduce weather exposure.
7. Improper Use or Storage
Warranty coverage may be void if the equipment is used in any of the following ways, including but not
limited to:
–Stored outdoors or exposed to harsh weather conditions for extended periods
–Operated in a manner inconsistent with manufacturer guidelines
–Subjected to impact damage such as collisions or driving off curbs
–Operating the unit in a way that overheats the motor or motor brushes.
–Operating the unit on hills exceeding the manufacturer’s recommended grade.
8.Outstanding Account Balance
Warranty service may be suspended or declined if the customer has any outstanding balance owing to
Citywide Scooters.
9. Battery Warranty
Batteries are covered by a one-year manufacturer’s limited warranty for manufacturing defects only.
Battery warranty claims are subject to testing and approval by the battery manufacturer. Coverage may be
denied if failure results from:
–Improper charging practices
–Incorrect use: E.g. Batteries must comply with the manufacturer’s specified type (e.g., AGM/SLA for
non-lithium models). Installing non-factory lithium batteries may void the warranty.
–Normal performance degradation or overtime
10. Warranty Transfer and Inspection
Warranty coverage may be transferred only after a complete inspection of the equipment by Citywide
Scooters and written approval from the company.
11.Return Policy
– Returns are accepted within 100 km of usage and within 15 days of purchase, with original receipt and
product in good condition.
– 25% restocking fee may apply.
– All returns are subject to inspection results.
– Personal items, customized products, tires, accessories are non-refundable.
12.Limitation of Liability
Citywide Scooters shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the
use or inability to use the equipment, including but not limited to loss of mobility, inconvenience, or
transportation costs.
